The main reason for the color of acidic crosslinking agents is that a small amount of methyl triacetoxysilane will decompose during the synthesis process, causing the product to become colored. Due to the decomposition temperature of methyltriacetoxysilane being only over 100 degrees, the higher the temperature during the synthesis process, the darker the color of the product.
Secondly, due to certain differences in the amount of decomposition per batch, color fluctuations may also occur. When producing acidic silicone adhesive, the amount of crosslinking agent added is relatively small, which will not have a significant impact on the overall color of the adhesive. Moreover, the color of this crosslinking agent will not darken at room temperature, so it will not have an impact on the color of producing acidic transparent silicone adhesive.
