Reactivity

Bosil-107 can react with protic substances such as alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amino acids, carbohydrates, thiols and amines under formation of the silylated derivatives and ammonia release.

Silylations with Bosil-107 are usually conducted without solvent. The silylation reaction generally results in very high, often quantitative yields. Bosil-107 decomposes in presence of water or acids. Strong oxidation agents cause oxidation.

Bosil-107 can be hydrolyzed in acid or alkaline aqueous. The Si-O-Si bond was broken with silanol created. The silanol usually will be used to modify the polymer.

Application and performance

1. Deodorants

To be used as volatile carrier in production of deodorants. It will help to uniformly spread actives and pigments over the surface of hair or skin leaving no oily residue or build-up an excellent non-greasy feel.

2. Filler treatment

It can be used as filler or pigments treatment to improve rub-in properties, reducing stickiness, and imparting lubricity and a smooth skin feel.
